<title>Ligar a uma rede sem fios oculta</title>

It is possible to set up a wireless network so that it is “hidden.” Hidden
 networks won’t show up in the list of wireless networks displayed in the
 <gui>Network</gui> settings. To connect to a hidden wireless network:

 Abra o <gui xref="shell-introduction#yourname">menu do sistema</gui> em parte-a direita da barra superior.
 </item>
 <item>
 Selecione <gui><media its:translate="no" type="image" mime="image/svg" src="figures/network-wireless-signal-excellent-symbolic.svg" width="16" height="16"/> Inalámbrica não conetada</gui>. A seção Inalámbrica do menu expandir-se-á.
 </item>
 <item>
 Carregue em <gui>Configuração sem fios</gui>.
 </item>
 <item>Carregue o botão <gui>Ligar a uma rede oculta...</gui>.</item>
 <item>
 Na janela que aparece, selecione uma rede oculta à que se tivesse ligado anteriormente utilizando a lista desdobrável <gui>Conexão</gui>, ou <gui>Nova</gui> para criar uma nova.

 <item>
 Para uma conexão nova, escreva o nome da rede, escolha o tipo de segurança sem fios na lista desdobrável <gui>Segurança sem fios</gui>.
 </item>
 <item>
 Introduza a palavra-passe ou outros detalhes de segurança.
 </item>
 <item>
 Carregue <gui>Ligar</gui>.
 </item>

You may have to check the settings of the wireless access point or router
 to see what the network name is. If you don’t have the network name (SSID),
 you can use the BSSID (Basic Service Set Identifier, the access
 point’s MAC address), which looks something like <gui>02:00:01:02:03:04</gui>
 and can usually be found on the underside of the access point.

Também deverá verificar a configuração de segurança do ponto de acesso sem fios; procure termos do tipo WEP ou WPA.

 You may think that hiding your wireless network will improve security by
 preventing people who don’t know about it from connecting. In practice, this
 is not the case; the network is slightly harder to find but it is still
 detectable.
