<title>Scrivere file su CD o DVD</title>

È possibile mettere file su un disco vuoto usando <gui>Creazione CD/DVD</gui>. La possibilità di creare un CD o un DVD appare nel gestore di file quando viene inserito un supporto nel masterizzatore: il gestore di file consente di trasferire file ad altri computer oppure l'esecuzione di <link xref="backup-why">backup</link> aventi come destinazione un disco vuoto. Per scrivere file su un CD o su un DVD:

 Inserire un disco vuoto nell'unità di masterizzazione CD/DVD.</item>
 <item>
 In the <gui>Blank CD/DVD-R Disc</gui> notification that pops up at the
 bottom of the screen, select <gui>Open with CD/DVD Creator</gui>. The
 <gui>CD/DVD Creator</gui> folder window will open.
 (È possibile anche fare clic su <gui>Disco CD/DVD-R vuoto</gui> nella sezione <gui>Dispositivi</gui> del riquadro laterale del gestore di file.)

 <item>
 Nel campo <gui>Nome disco</gui> inserire un nome per il disco.
 </item>

 Trascinare oppure copiare i file all'interno della finestra.
 </item>
 <item>
 Fare clic su <gui>Scrivi su disco</gui>.
 </item>
 <item>
 Sotto <gui>Scegliere un disco su cui scrivere</gui> selezionare il disco vuoto.
 (È possibile selezionare <gui>File immagine</gui> per mettere i file in un'immagine disco salvata sul computer, per poterla masterizzare su un disco vuoto in seguito.)

 Fare clic su <gui>Proprietà</gui> per modificare la velocità di masterizzazione, la posizione dei file temporanei e altre opzioni; sebbene quelle predefinite dovrebbero essere corrette.

 Fare clic sul pulsante <gui>Masterizza</gui> per iniziare la masterizzazione.
 Se è stato selezionato <gui>Masterizza più copie</gui> verranno richiesti i dischi aggiuntivi.

 Quando la masterizzazione del disco è completa, questo verrà espluso automaticamente. Selezionare <gui>Crea altre copie</gui>, oppure <gui>Chiudi</gui> per uscire.

 <title>If the disc wasn’t burned properly</title>

Sometimes the computer doesn’t record the data correctly, and you won’t be
 able to see the files you put onto the disc when you insert it into a
 computer.

In this case, try burning the disc again but use a lower burning speed,
 for example, 12x rather than 48x. Burning at slower speeds is more reliable.
 You can choose the speed by clicking the <gui>Properties</gui> button in the
 <gui>CD/DVD Creator</gui> window.
