[ { "app_id": "zim.desktop", "date_created": 1479149940.0, "description": "I've tried many solutions for note-taking and task management over the years. Paper based, full-featured applications, hosted services, the powerful Emacs Org-mode, but I aways come back to Zim. The ease of use is just amazing. with a great set of options from the menu, and a decent set of shortcuts to speed up your workflow later on. Personally I hardly use the tagging feature, but still being able to search and jump through my notes, and easily restructure them is golden. The underlying file structure of plaintext files is convenient if you are switching note taking solutions, or if you want to view your notes with a tool other than Zim.", "distro": "Debian GNU/Linux", "karma_down": 3, "karma_up": 48, "locale": "en_US", "rating": 100, "reported": 0, "review_id": 1052, "score": 79, "summary": "My second brain for many years", "user_display": "Nico Rikken", "user_hash": "185f0f5b6e7150438b9d835ce4a40c65f359c5fb", "user_skey": "59a11abd1d3931a6b1c6284ce7139f753ff9b110", "version": "0.65" }, { "app_id": "zim.desktop", "date_created": 1482890376.0, "description": "I've been using zim for two years now, after many years of using other note-taking apps. The simplicity and practicality is just amazing. Great set of plugins - one of the main reasons I migrated from older apps (like Gnote) is the Table-Of-Contents plugin. Not to mention that each note is a simple, readable text file. Drag and drop simple bitmap images.\r\nI use it at home on my Fedora desktop, and at work on my work-laptop running windows. I use it daily: I keep notes, to-do-lists and meeting minutes for large projects, all neatly organized by project folders and sub-folders, and also 'learning' notes. \r\nThe day it supports some sort of vector graphics, that would be nirvana.
